Aloha, I’m Terri!

In 2009, while training for an Ironman race, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I had considered myself to be at optimum health, so how did this happen? It really got me thinking and I began a deep dive into the role that nutrition, environment and lifestyle play in the development of disease, specifically breast cancer.

Only 5-10% of breast cancers are caused by inherited genes. Most are caused by environment and lifestyle factors. This includes our exposure to toxins, nutritional deficiencies or excesses and imbalance in healthy bacteria in the gut. The good news is, this gives us the power to take charge of these factors. Getting a cancer diagnosis is not just “bad luck” or “faulty genes” and it is empowering to know that there are steps we can take to prevent it from coming back.

This realization was freeing and powerful, as the fear of the cancer coming back was ever-present. Knowing that I am proactively addressing this risk has enabled me to find peace and I want to share it with other breast cancer survivors.

My personal journey and research has enabled me to design a holistic approach to nutrition and lifestyle that will set you up to keep this cancer experience in the rear view mirror and get you feeling amazing again.
