The bananas provide potassium, fiber, vitamin C, manganese (great for bone health & metabolism), vitamin B-6 (body uses to grow new cells). In addition, research has shown that ripe bananas help fight cancer.(1) The dark spots produce Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) that helps destroy cancerous tumors.(1)
Pineapple is high in vitamin C and manganese as well, but also contains bromelain which serves as an anti-inflammatory and reduces tumor growth.
Chia seeds are high in antioxidants, act as an anti-inflammatory, are high in protein and fiber. They also have a good balance of amino acids. By weight, chia seeds have more omega-3βs than salmon!(2) Chia seeds also have a lowering effect on blood pressure and LDL cholesterol.
Hemp seeds are high in Omega-3 EFA, fiber, iron, and calcium. They are also an excellent source of plant-based protein. Hemp seeds can prevent arterial plaque build up, lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
Spirulina has the highest percentage of protein by weight of ANY food on earth! (2) It is full of vitamins, phytonutrients and antioxidants. It has also been shown to decrease inflammation and total cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol. (2) It has also been show to improve eye health and liver function.(2)
